Beautiful book: window to St. Therese's soul.

I purchased this book to give as a gift to an order of religious sisters with whom I am very close friends. I only read part of the introduction and briefly paged through it before giving it away. I am definitely going to buy another copy for myself. May St. Therese pray for all those who read her plays. I am so grateful that these "pious recreations" have been made available to the public.

If you're passionate about having a great bar and serving great cocktails

If you're passionate about having a great bar and serving great cocktails, this is a fantastic book! I went into this knowing that I would be making bitters that would take 3 months to complete. I decided to go all in and make all of the bitters and several of the infusion recipes in the book. In one more month, I will have an incredible bar set up. I bought amber glass bottles with droppers and all the essential ingredients for the bitters on Amazon. The truffle snow and coconut foam recipe with the st. germain cocktail was AMAZING! I had a question about measurements for the bitters, called Barchef in Toronto and they were fantastic, taking about 10 minutes to walk me through the process. If you're passionate about having a well stocked bar and serving great cocktails, this is a great book! Once the bitters are ready, they are huge quantities and will last indefinitely so you are set for the long haul.

This is one of my favorite cocktail books

This is one of my favorite cocktail books. It was one of the first books that I found that gave you all the recipes for everything they use including bitters. There are some fairly complicated recipes contained inside, but there are plenty of simpler drinks as well. The bitters, syrups and infusion recipes might just be worth it even without the cocktail recipes. If you are very new to making cocktails at home, this might not be the first book you should buy, but it should be in your top 3.

Beautiful pictures and creative ideas but it's not practical unless you plan out the drinks you want to make months in advance. Most drinks have ingredients that must be prepared really far in advance. Perhaps we will start planning our Christmas cocktail when the decorations first come out.

Honestly first third of this book was hard to read. Too much philosophical questions. I wish there were more real-life examples and research between history and philosophy pages.

But the rest of the book makes up for it. I was fascinated to read about how proper cities are done, and how such improvements bring life and new experience into citizens' lives.

Living in post-USSR, I see a lot of examples of cities done wrong, not for people but for military parades. So it was like a fresh air to read the thoughts I often had about problems that each one encounters in modern city life, and see these problems solved in communities around the world.

I really hope author does not give up on this topic, and will bring us more insight in how happy cities work and how they are built, hopefully with more examples from real cities all over the world.

This two-volume set takes up the issue of developing a road map of policy options, both at the regional and country levels, for carrying forward the ongoing efforts in monetary and financial cooperation in East Asia. Building on a series of core reports and background papers by eminent economists and policymakers around the world commissioned under an ADB technical assistance project, the books explore what is feasible and desirable in regional monetary and financial cooperation and lays out a road map for putting the concept into action over the next several years. Volume 1 contains an overview by Peter Montiel, and three core studies by Olam Chaipravat, Eric Girardin, and Takatoshi Ito and Yung-Chul Park. Volume 2 contains background papers by Robert J. Barro; Elbliog‚onore Boiscuvier and Alfred Steinherr; Barry Eichengreen; Jeffrey A. Frankel; Eric Girardin; Jong-Wha Lee; Yung-Chul Park and Kwanho Shin; Ronald McKinnon; Eiji Ogawa, Takatoshi Ito, and Yuri Nagataki Sasaki; Ramkishen Rajan and Reza Siregar; Yunjong Wang and Wing Thye Woo; and Charles Wyplosz. The volumes and the study on which they were based were conceptualized, supervised, and coordinated by Pradumna B. Rana and Srinivasa Madhur.
