Ah, Liberty does it again! Love her books and her insight on what is considered taboo. All her books are about love and those precious moments one shares with the one you love, no matter the cost. Twins Tobias and Thomas have a secret that was never to be shared. They are gay and in love with each other. Celebrating their Grandmothers 80th birthday, they discover secrets run in the family. Not The Author For Me

Tobias and Thomas are twin brothers keeping a big secret: they’re in love. Ever since high school, they’ve been attracted to each other in a way that they know no one else can ever really understand. But finally, they are going to get to be together, even if no one knows. At least until their family gets together for their grandma’s eightieth birthday celebration. Then, sometimes, secrets have a way of getting out.

After reading this, I think I’ve decided that Liberty Lace and I just aren’t compatible as reader and author. For me, there’s a huge disconnect when it comes to emotions or writing in her stories. I don’t feel anything when I read them, other than occasionally annoyed.

This story in particular read a lot like a soap opera. There was a slew of family drama packed into such a short number of pages. When it wasn’t one issue, there was another, and then you’d turn the page and there’d be something else.

Another thing that drove me insane was how careless the twins were being. It’s supposed to be this big secret but they pretty much grope and kiss each other anywhere. Because of this attitude, it didn’t feel like a secret to me, but more like a game of “how much can we push it before we get caught?” I was just irritated.

Additionally, just because this is a short story and the boy’s are twins, doesn’t mean an author can’t give them each a unique personality. Sadly, I felt they were bland and flat. I couldn’t tell them apart, especially since their names both began with T and there were no distinct personality characteristics. Eventually, I didn’t even care about telling them apart anyway. On top of all of that, the editing was lacking. At one point, dairy was spelled diary and I had to headdesk just a bit. I was bored and glad it was short.

But other people have enjoyed this story and this author, so it may be a case of it’s not you, it’s me.

The cover art by Wilde City Press is fine. It’s fitting as it has a beach setting and well… the same guy/”twins.” So in general, I think it works for the story, and the word play is cute.

This is a one-of-a-kind book which traces the history of Iranian films through film posters, starting with the very first movie poster produced in Iran! This work has been a labour of love for its author who is the editor of the most important film magazine in Iran and a highly respected film historian. In addition, the author is a well known and published cartoonist. This book represents a unique collection of film posters collected over many years by the author. The most outstanding posters are those designed by the famed Iranian graphic artist Morteza Momayez. Though the book is pricey, there is no other book available on this subject and the quality of finishing is outstanding. An essential book for serious fans of the Iranian cinema.

Beautiful book: window to St. Therese's soul.

I purchased this book to give as a gift to an order of religious sisters with whom I am very close friends. I only read part of the introduction and briefly paged through it before giving it away. I am definitely going to buy another copy for myself. May St. Therese pray for all those who read her plays. I am so grateful that these "pious recreations" have been made available to the public.

If you're passionate about having a great bar and serving great cocktails

If you're passionate about having a great bar and serving great cocktails, this is a fantastic book! I went into this knowing that I would be making bitters that would take 3 months to complete. I decided to go all in and make all of the bitters and several of the infusion recipes in the book. In one more month, I will have an incredible bar set up. I bought amber glass bottles with droppers and all the essential ingredients for the bitters on Amazon. The truffle snow and coconut foam recipe with the st. germain cocktail was AMAZING! I had a question about measurements for the bitters, called Barchef in Toronto and they were fantastic, taking about 10 minutes to walk me through the process. If you're passionate about having a well stocked bar and serving great cocktails, this is a great book! Once the bitters are ready, they are huge quantities and will last indefinitely so you are set for the long haul.

This is one of my favorite cocktail books

This is one of my favorite cocktail books. It was one of the first books that I found that gave you all the recipes for everything they use including bitters. There are some fairly complicated recipes contained inside, but there are plenty of simpler drinks as well. The bitters, syrups and infusion recipes might just be worth it even without the cocktail recipes. If you are very new to making cocktails at home, this might not be the first book you should buy, but it should be in your top 3.

good recipes if you can wait 3 months

Beautiful pictures and creative ideas but it's not practical unless you plan out the drinks you want to make months in advance. Most drinks have ingredients that must be prepared really far in advance. Perhaps we will start planning our Christmas cocktail when the decorations first come out.

Great book. Though the first third is boring.

Honestly first third of this book was hard to read. Too much philosophical questions. I wish there were more real-life examples and research between history and philosophy pages.

But the rest of the book makes up for it. I was fascinated to read about how proper cities are done, and how such improvements bring life and new experience into citizens' lives.

Living in post-USSR, I see a lot of examples of cities done wrong, not for people but for military parades. So it was like a fresh air to read the thoughts I often had about problems that each one encounters in modern city life, and see these problems solved in communities around the world.

I really hope author does not give up on this topic, and will bring us more insight in how happy cities work and how they are built, hopefully with more examples from real cities all over the world.

If you open up this book, nice pictures of actual scanning with clinical images will be served for you.
